The IGP should recuse himself from any investigation in which Sarawak Report or Clare Rewcastle-Brown is involved

The IGP should recuse himself from any investigation in which Sarawak Report or Clare Rewcastle-Brown is involved.

Firstly, I don’t see why it is he who decides what is hearsay or not. That should be a decision made by the Public Prosecutor and later a court of law, after investigations are completed.

It wouldn’t be difficult for the IO to take statements from those who have lodged reports over the matter and then to follow up thereafter with applications to obtain the necessary documents or bank statements which would assist the probe.

This is if the police don’t already have possession of the relevant documents despite the fact that the SRC investigation is ongoing.

Secondly, now that Sarawak Report has made allegations against persons close to the IGP, he may well be in a position of conflict. So why is he calling the shots? That cannot be right. He should not involve himself in the RM9.5 million probe or any other matter in which Sarawak Report or Clare is involved at all.
