Young voters are reminded that in an election, they are choosing leaders to lead a nation and not choosing a race or religion.
Students must be taught the democratic process before they reached the age of 18. It has not been done when the voting age was reduced from 21 to 18 with the amendment to the Federal Constitution in 2019. This must be done urgently.
Many young voters are influenced by the social media to vote according to race and religion. They must be taught to vote for capable and clean leaders.
These leaders must be able to handle the complexity of governing a nation which includes managing the nation’s finances, the administrative operations, charting the nation’s future and keeping peace and harmony of our nation which has diverse races, religions and cultures.
Many young voters are not familiar with the different political parties and the democratic system of governance of our country.
