Decision yesterday was a collective effort.
I explained about the automatic intake of 10As & the intake by merit points. The task by KPM is to seek a balance to ensure all qualified and deserved can be enrolled.
We are now 2.5 year after forming govt, we have gone through 3 rounds of Matriculation Intake. Year 2023, we followed the old system. Year 2024, PMX announced 10As automatic enrolment, the final deicison in 2025 remain the same.
My advice to those who held power previously
Those in power previously had claimed as if 2025 is worse than their time.
I wish to remind all these people, the automatic intake for year 2024 & 2025 is not perfect, but is definitely better than before 2023.
They have no moral high ground to put up such an accusation – during their time, even if you have 10, 11 or 12 As without A-, no enrollment is guaranteed.
25 years Matriculation, Reform in 3 years
Matriculation was formed in 1999. The problems repeat every year.
This is a legacy issue. Madani Govt is committed to resolve it once and for all.
We have started for these 2 years automatic enrolment.
Reform Effort will not stop here
We now want to look forward to 2026 and beyond.
We want to ensure how to ensure all those who deserved can get it – be it by automatic enrolment or by merit points.
Future reform – we appreciate 10As student, we emphasis on those who scored good merit points, we wont leave those who have good co-curiculumn performace out, we will take care of those from lower income family.
Most important, our works wont end here. We have kicked started our works, to ensure Matriculation issue is settled once and for all.
