Full support for Anwar must be given to avoid PAS sabotage

Support for Anwar in his plan for confidence vote in Parliament on Dec. 19 as Hadi is trying to create another Sheraton Move conspiracy to topple the Anwar Ibrahim premiership.

I support the proposal by the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim to have a vote of confidence motion in Parliament on December 19, 2022 as  the PAS President, Hadi Awang is trying to create another Sheraton Move conspiracy to topple the Anwar Ibrahim premiership.

Hadi has claimed he masterminded the Sheraton Move conspiracy which toppled the first Pakatan Harapan government after 22 months in Feb. 2020, and the first step of the Sheraton Move conspiracy was the issue of the ratification of International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

The ICERD issue in 2018 allowed Hadi to spread lies  and falsehoods that DAP was anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Royalty and that the  DAP was behind the ratification proposal , when in actual fact, DAP Ministers and leaders  were completely surprised when the then Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, announced in his speech at the UN General Assembly in Sept. 2018 that  Malaysia was prepared to ratify the UN treaties and covenants on core human rights issues.

Hadi has yet to apologise for his lies and falsehoods about the DAP in the first Pakatan Harapan government with regard to the ICERD issue, but he has started to tell new lies and falsehoods about the DAP in the “unity government” of Anwar Ibrahim  – making new diatribes against   the DAP by  accusing the “creedless and immoral DAP of Islamophobia”.

The DAP is as innocent of Hadi‘s charges of Islamophobia as the DAP is innocent of Hadi’s earlier charges of being the mastermind behind the abortive move to ratify ICERD  in 2018.

Why is Hadi  becoming such an incorrigible liar?

Is this the  reason  Saudi Arabia banned him from visiting the country, even when he was previously  the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Middle East?

I am for the ratification of  ICERD, but after the majority of the races and religions in Malaysia support it and understand that it poses no threat to the various races,  religions or the Federal Constitution but a step forward to join the world in promoting human rights.

Hadi has still to cite a single instance where Islam was undermined out of the 55 out of 57 Organisation of Islamic Conference (OI C) Muslim countries which had ratified ICERD or a single case out of the  36 out of 38 countries with the monarchical system where the monarchical system had been affected by the ratification of ICERD!

Hadi’s  latest allegation that DAP is guilty  of Islamophobia is most ridiculous and laughable.

Since its formation 56 years ago in 1966,  DAP had fully supported Article 3 of the Constitution which stipulated which Islam “as the religion of the Federation but other religions may be practised in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation”.

Would a political party which is Islamophobic support Article 3 of the Constitution?

Clearly, Hadi and his lieutenants do not understand the meaning of “Islamophobia” and yet they talk as if they are experts.

Can Hadi explain when he discovered that the DAP is Islamophobic?

What Hadi is worried about is that the DAP has three Malay Members of Parliament elected in the 15th General Election, proof that lies, falsehoods and fake news can be countered over time.

What Malaysia needs today is stability and a  pause in the decline of the country  from  a  first-rate  great world-class nation to become a second-rate mediocre country after sixty years and in a trajectory to become a failed, divided, kleptocratic nation in another four decades.

We must not allow a second Sheraton Move conspiracy to succeed, which will set back the country for decades, but ensure that the Anwar Ibrahim unity government last for at least  five years to lay the basis for Malaysia to be great again by returning to the original nation-building principles laid down by the nation’s founding fathers  for a multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural Malaysia.
