Loud and boisterous display of army tanks and shooting fighter jets, marching of different men and women in uniform, adorable K9 units in arms. Those might be the sights audience are set to see come Saturday, 31st August 2024 as the nation witness another large scale Hari Kebangsaan parade organised by Kerajaan MADANI in Dataran Putrajaya. However, while one appreciates the grand exhibitions of patriotism, one must also never forget the small and significant moments displayed in the community programmes also celebrating Independence Day.

Our DAP representatives nationwide have been busy organising many events to truly celebrate Hari Kebangsaan among the community. The organisers such as local assemblymen and members of Parliament themselves beam with pride as the nation embraces this festivity.

For example, DAP reps in Melaka such as Sdr Kerk Chee Yee and Sdri Leng Chau Yen organised distribution of the Jalur Gemilang flag around Kampung Baru Paya Mengkuang.

Sdri Thulsi, also an assemblywoman from Perak shared pictures from Hari Kebangsaan celebration with the KRT Falim team, Tabika Perpaduan Falim and the Falim community.

All of these efforts goes to show that however big or small the celebration, the spirit of unity and prosperity should be within us and should be shared with the people around us.
