10 young Malaysians received RM20,000 at the inaugural Karpal Singh Law Scholarship Award Ceromony held at Theatre Impian, Petaling Jaya.
The 10 recipients hail from all over the country; as far as Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak. They are the first batch of Karpal Singh scholars, and it is hoped that they will continue the legacy of the late Dato Seri Utama Karpal Singh.
As head of the secretariat for the DAP Karpal Singh Law Scholarship, it was truly an honour that the Secretary General YB Sdr Anthony Loke placed his trust upon me to lead this initiative. Thank you to Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang and Dr Tajuddin Rasdi, who are both part of the Selection Committee. It was not an easy task, but with the help of the secretariat, we were able to select the 10 recipients.
Again and again, I am reminded that I made the right decision to join the DAP. This is a party that strives to change lives for the better, and I believe we did so for these 10 Malaysians.
