First and foremost, I would like to sincerely thank all delegates who attended the DAP Johor State Convention. Your presence and commitment are crucial to the strength and success of DAP Johor. πŸš€βœ¨

That being said, the progress of DAP Johor relies not only on the dedication of its members but also on the tireless efforts of the committee members who have guided us thus far. In this regard, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the outgoing members, including Sdr Bao Qiang, Sdr Kanan, Sdri Shobana, Sdr Eng Guan, Sdr Tung Siong, and Sdr Cheng Hau for their past contributions. Your hard work has played a significant role in shaping the party to where it stands today.

Of course, I must give special recognition to Sdr Liew Chin Tong, who has dedicated the past decade of his distinguished career to strengthening and leading DAP Johor. Under his stewardship, DAP Johor has transformed, as he aptly put it, from a “grocery” to a “supermarket,” reflecting his vision and strategic leadership. His contributions are truly exceptional, and I am fully aware that I have big shoes to fill. While leading this team will certainly be a challenge, I am committed to carrying forward his efforts with the same dedication.

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the newly elected committee members for placing their trust in me by electing me as the new Chairperson. It is a huge honor to serve as the first Chairlady of DAP Johor, and I am proud to join the ranks of only two other state Chairladies in the history of DAP across Malaysia.

Also wearing my hat as DAP’s Women’s Chief, I am particularly proud to highlight that out of our 20 committee members, 9 are women, representing 45% of the state committee. This is the highest among all DAP state committees across Malaysia! These women are not just token representatives but are entrusted with key portfolios to lead. This is a clear demonstration of gender mainstreaming and stands as a testament to DAP Johor, reflecting our party’s steadfast commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women in leadership roles. We will continue to champion these values and strive for even greater representation and inclusivity in the future.

I am a firm believer in collective leadership. The new state committee will be a team where everyone is encouraged to speak freely and even engage in fierce debates, but when we leave the meeting room, we will speak with one voice, united and without harbouring any grudges.

Moving forward, I will continue to prioritise gender empowerment, nurture future leadership, and strengthen our connections with all segments of society. We want to build a better Johor and Malaysia.

Let us work together for a better and brighter future for DAP Johor! πŸš€πŸ«ΆπŸ»β€οΈ
