In the spirit of inclusivity and festive cheer, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has transformed its lobby with an array of stunning Christmas decorations ahead of the holiday season

The decorations, featuring fairy lights and a Christmas tree adorned with seasonal ornaments, aim to create a festive atmosphere while celebrating Malaysia’s multicultural fabric.

At the light-up ceremony, a choir made up of various ethnicities was seen joyfully performing Christmas carols, including Feliz Navidad and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. “Some civil servants from East Malaysia expressed their delight, sharing that they had waited years to witness a government truly embracing the principles of diversity and openness, bringing the spirit of harmony and inclusion into the workplace,” said Minister Nga Kor Ming.

“At the ministry, we strongly believe that recognising and appreciating all cultural and religious festivities is key to strengthening harmony,” he remarked. During the ceremony, Nga highlighted the ministry’s ongoing commitment to celebrating all major festivals. Since last year, the ministry has adorned its lobby for festivities such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, and Christmas, showcasing the spirit of Malaysia Truly Asia and the motto of “unity in diversity.”

The event also attracted foreign tourists, including visitors from the United Kingdom, who came to experience Malaysia’s multicultural appeal.
