I wholeheartedly commend and thank Minister Nga Kor Ming and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment in resolving a 27-year-long housing issue for estate workers.

YBM Nga, made a promise mid 2024 and he walked the talk today to fulfill it. He settled a 27 year long dispute in less than 1 year, while MIC and the previous government had 27 years to help these estate workers but could not work together with state government to resolve it. Regrettable, indeed.

The successful implementation of the PRR Harmoni MADANI Bestari Jaya programme is a direct result of Federal government’s tireless efforts and collaborative approach, bringing much-needed relief to plantation workers who have long been overlooked.

It is crucial to highlight the stark contrast in leadership and action.

While MIC, a party that claims to represent the Indian community, failed to address this pressing issue for decades, it is under the leadership of the MADANI government that this problem has finally been resolved.

MIC’s years of inaction left estate workers in dire conditions, while KPKT Minister YB Nga Kor Ming and Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim demonstrated genuine care and determination by effectively negotiating and securing government intervention to resolve the housing crisis by securing the land and funding, so the housing units can be sold at a subsidized rate of just RM45,000.00.

This initiative serves as a powerful testament to the MADANI government’s commitment to the welfare of the Indian community and all Malaysians.

We remain steadfast in our resolve to ensure that the welfare of the Indian community, along with all marginalized groups, is prioritized and improved, fulfilling the promises that were long overdue.
