Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed Malaysia’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Prime Minister also criticized the international community for their one-sided approach to the issue of cruelty and oppression against Palestinians.
“As a result of this injustice, hundreds of innocent lives have been victims” the Prime Minister stated on X on Sunday (Oct 8).
Furthermore, Malaysia emphasized the importance of acknowledging the root causes of the current violence in the Gaza Strip. The Foreign Ministry’s statement on Sunday (Oct 8) highlighted the prolonged illegal occupation, blockade, and suffering endured by Palestinians, the desecration of Al-Aqsa, and the politics of dispossession at the hands of Israel as the occupier.
The government has also announced that it will channel RM1 million to the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine (AAKRP) managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following the recent conflict and violence in the Gaza Strip.
