PAS Is Irresponsible, Unprincipled, Hypocritical And Opportunistic In Deciding To Proceed With The Pro-Najib Rally On 6 January

PAS Secretary-General Takiyuddin Hassan’s announcement to press ahead with the pro-Najib rally on January 6 outside the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya despite Umno, the rally organiser, backing out only proves that PAS is engaging in a devious political “Squid Games” to grab power at all costs. PAS is irresponsible, unprincipled, hypocritical and opportunistic in deciding to proceed with the rally despite a royal decree from Istana Negara on the king’s pardon prerogative and a warning from the inspector-general of police not to attend the rally.

Only a disciple of “Squid Games” will dare to disobey and defy a royal command followed by a warning from the police. Every Malaysian can see that PAS is willing to put the country’s socio-political welfare and economic well-being at risk by eliminating all political opponents with dishonest means, including their political expedient ally Bersatu who is not involved with the rally.

PAS information chief, Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, has tried to turn the table around by claiming that it is DAP and not PAS that is a contestant facing elimination in the Squid Games. Clearly PAS lacks creativity and originality in using DAP’s own political analogy to describe PAS’ political conspiracy. Further, has Ahmad Fadhli really watched Squid Games when PAS radical outlook and extremist views would likely label such a Netflix program as more “haram” than “halal”?

Ahmad Fadhli attacks DAP for joining and supporting the unity government despite the appointment of UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as Deputy Prime Minister when he is facing 47 criminal charges of corruption. Unlike PAS which dares to disobey and defy a royal decree, DAP has chosen to abide by the royal command to form a unity government.

If DAP had chosen not to do so, then DAP could be easily accused of disrespecting the Malay Rulers and subjected to racial profiling. Contrary to PAS which is greedy for power in its own right, DAP is willing to share power as commanded by the King.

Ahmad Fadhli then made an illogical analysis that DAP leaders like Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang and myself have refused to let go of top leadership positions. PAS should be reminded that Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang has retired from active politics whilst I am no longer the Secretary-General and fully supports the leader of the DAP, who is now Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Compare this with Abdul Hadi Awang who is likely to be PAS President for life.

For those who say that my time is over, only DAP members and the people have the right to decide. On March 16 at our party National Congress DAP members will vote and decide whether they agree with DAP opponents and PAS that my time is over. In contrast to PAS, I will never take the people’s support for granted despite increasing my majority in the Bagan Parliamentary seat from 22,070 votes in the 2008 general election to 49,648 in the 2022 general election.
