Kuala Lumpur, 27 January – MP for Damasara, Tony Pua Kiam Wee will continue his suit against former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak regarding the latter’s misfeasance, whether through corruption, misappropriation or negligence, regarding 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
The DAP National Publicity Secretary stressed that the misfeasance suit filed by him four years ago is not a personal suit but a matter of public interest. In a statement issued today, Tony iterated,
“My misfeasance suit against Najib is not a personal suit. Hence it is not for ‘me’ to settle amicably with Najib.
“It is a public interest suit to claim that Najib is personally liable for the losses the Govt incurred as a result of his misfeasance.”
Furthermore, the Damansara MP stressed that up to this day, Najib has yet to bear any responsibility that he has caused Malaysians and is still protesting his innocence.
Hence, Tony Pua clarified that there is no basis for a settlement and will be informing the court regarding his stance. Yesterday, the Kuala Lumpur High Court suggested for both parties in the suit to settle the case outside of court. – The Rocket.
